Joe Aiello was born on Apirl 7th 1946 in Calabria, Italy. The family immigrated to Canada in 1959 and settled in Ottawa. Growing up, Joe worked in many restaurants from the age of twelve on. Working his way up from dishwasher to busboy, server, manager, chef and eventually owner. Joe owned and operated Café Italia in Ottawa before coming to Cornwall in 1984. Joe and Donna moved to Cornwall, along with their children, to open the Porto Bello Restaurant. In the 22 years of operation at the Porto Bello, Joe also operated the catering facilities at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club, the Operating Engineers Institute in Morrisburg and Creg Quay Marina as well as City Limits.

Joe came out of a short retirement and has now embarked on his newest venturewith his daughter Amanda. Moustache Joe’s Deli and Café. A café style restaurant serving an assortment of dishes with an Italian influence. At lunchtime, the restaurant is a self serve place where customers line up and pick from a variety of freshly made items like panini sandwiches, soups and salads. The quick service caters to the working class people who have just a short hour lunch break. At dinner time, the restaurant becomes a full service casual dining establishment with delicious dinner specials like our wonderful pasta dishes, steaks and seafood. Every Friday and Saturday we also offer our succulent AAA Prime Rib au Jus.
